Removal and installation



1. (K20A) Remove the accessory drive belt.

2. (D15B, D17A) Remove the timing belt.

3. Drain the coolant.

4. (K20A) Remove the crankshaft pulley.

5. (K20A) Remove the lubrication system pipe (A), unscrew the seven bolts securing the coolant pump and remove the pump.

6. (D15B, D17A) Remove the coolant pump by unscrewing the four mounting bolts.

7. Check the contact surfaces and the sealing ring groove. Clean if necessary.

8. Install the coolant pump with a new O-ring.



Examination



Turn the coolant pump counterclockwise. Make sure it rotates freely.

If the pump rotates with difficulty, replace it.

Note: Small leaks from the drain holes (A) are not a malfunction.

1. Clean the contact surface of the adapter.

2. Apply a layer of sealant to the contact surface of the adapter as shown in the figure.
