1. Turn off the ignition (the key must be turned to the OFF position).

2. Remove the distributor cap, runner and protective screen (with appropriate equipment).

6. Remember that the standard values of winding resistance change with temperature Specifications the values given are for a coil temperature of 21°C.

7. If the measurement result is outside the acceptable range in any of the last two tests, replace the ignition coil.

Replacement



1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

Warning! If the car stereo system is equipped with a security code, make sure you have the correct combination to activate the audio system before disconnecting the battery!


2. Remove the distributor cap and protective screen (with appropriate equipment) (See Chapter Routine maintenance). Disconnect the wires from the coil primary circuit terminals.

4. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
