2. Remove the center console (see Chapter Body).
3. Chock the front wheels, then jack up the rear of the car and place it on stands. Apply the parking brake one click.

4. While manually rotating the rear wheels, tighten the adjusting nut on the parking brake cable equalizer assembly clockwise (see accompanying illustration). Stop tightening the nut as soon as the wheels start to "stick". Release the parking brake lever and make sure that the rear wheels rotate freely. When the drive is correctly adjusted, the stroke of the parking brake control lever should correspond to the specified in Specifications to the Chapter Routine maintenance of this Guide.
5. Lower the vehicle to the ground, then reinstall the center console (see Chapter Body) and the gear shift lever handle (see Chapter Gearshift box).
