The trunk lid is quite heavy, so it would be wise to enlist the help of an assistant.
Removal and installation
1. Lift the lid and cover the edges of the luggage compartment opening with protective covers or just old blankets to protect the paintwork.
2. Disconnect the drive cables or electrical wiring connected to the cover.

3. Use a marker to trace the hinges, marking their position on the lid (see accompanying illustration).

4. Ask an assistant to hold the lid in the open position and loosen the bolts securing both hinges to it (see accompanying illustration). Using two people, carefully remove the cover from the car.
5. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
Note: Make sure that the hinges are positioned exactly in their original positions on the lid.
Adjustment
1. The adjustment of the cover in the body opening is carried out by loosening the hinge fasteners.
2. To control the amount of lid displacement, trace the hinges with a marker (see paragraph 3 above).
3. Loosen the fasteners and adjust the position of the cover in the appropriate direction. Adjustment should be made in short steps, each time tightening the fasteners and performing a control check by carefully closing the cover.
4. Check that the lid lock is functioning properly. If necessary, adjust the position of its striker. Try to ensure that the lock securely holds the lid when it is flush with the surrounding body panels. Circle the striker with a marker, loosen the fasteners and make the necessary adjustments. Do not forget to tighten the bolts securely.
5. The latch assembly, as well as the lid hinge, should be regularly lubricated with lithium-based grease.
6. Finally, adjust the height of the lid when closed – screw in/out the rubber stop cushions accordingly.
