1. Set the gearshift lever to neutral.
2. Warm up the engine. When the engine is cold, turn off the heater valve and increase the engine speed to 3000 rpm, until the cooling system fan turns on for the first time. Stop the engine. Make sure all consumers are disabled.
3. Connect a tachometer.
4. On CR-V and 4-cylinder Odyssey models, disconnect the plug from the idle air valve (IAC valves).
5. On Odyssey 1998-00 models, disconnect the plug from the absorber tank purge valve (EVAP valve).
6. If the engine stalls, then start it and bring the speed to 1000 rpm, then slowly releasing the pedal, move the engine to idle.
7. Read the idle speed, which should be as follows.
- 430-530 rpm on CR-V,
- 500-600 rpm for Odyssey 1995-97,
- 650-750 rpm on Odyssey 1998,
- 680-780 rpm on Odyssey 1999-00.
8. RPM is adjusted by a screw on the upper left side of the inlet side of the throttle. Do not turn the screw more than 1/4 turn.
9. On CR-V and 4-cylinder Odyssey models, turn off the ignition, connect the plug to the IAC valve, remove the 7.5 A reverse signal / receiver fuse and after 10 seconds insert (this is necessary to reset and restart the engine processor unit).
10. On 1998-00 Odyssey models, turn on the A/C and heater (for maximum heating) and after 1 minute of idling, connect the plug to the reservoir purge valve.
11. On CR-V and 4-cylinder Odyssey models, check ignition timing and adjust if necessary.
Adjustment data of engines
9. Be guided by the data on the engine compartment plate. Fuel pressure is measured with a vacuum hose connected to the regulator and the engine running
1. Measured between rocker arm and camshaft cam
2. Measured at idle, warm engine
