Examination
Note: Shift control solenoid valves A and B must be removed/replaced as an assembly.
1. Disconnect the A/B shift control solenoid valve connector from the A/B shift control solenoid valve assembly.
2. Measure the resistance between contact #1 (electromagnetic valve A) the connector of the electromagnetic valve for switching control and the housing, and between contact No.3 (electromagnetic valve B) and the body.
Standard: 14-25 Ohm

3. Replace the solenoid valve assembly if the resistance is out of specification.
4. If the resistance is within the standard, connect pin #1 of the solenoid valve connector to the positive battery terminal. A clicking sound should be heard. Connect pin #3 to the positive battery terminal. A clicking sound should be heard. Replace the valve assembly if a clicking sound is not heard.
Replacement
1. Remove the mounting bolts and the A/B solenoid valve assembly.
Note: Make sure you remove or replace solenoids A and B as an assembly.
2. Check if dust has entered the liquid channels of the solenoid valve and replace it as a unit if necessary.

3. Clean the mounting surface and fluid passages of the solenoid valve assembly, and install the new A/B solenoid valve with a new filter and hold-down bracket.
4. Check the connector for rust, dirt or oil, and connect securely.
