Examination
Note: Before checking the throttle control cable, make sure of the following:
- The throttle cable free play is correct.
- Idle speed is correct.
- The engine has warmed up to normal operating temperature (radiator fan is on).
1. Make sure the throttle control cable is secured with the clamps as shown.

2. Make sure that the throttle control lever operates in sync with the throttle sector when you press and release the accelerator pedal.
3. If the lever and sector do not work synchronously, adjust the throttle control cable.
4. Check if there is any play in the throttle control lever when the accelerator pedal is depressed in the fully open throttle position.

5. Remove the end of the cable from the throttle control lever.
6. Check if the throttle control lever moves smoothly.

2. Check that the throttle sector is in the fully closed position.
3. Loosen the throttle control cable locknuts on the throttle sector.

4. Remove the free end of the throttle control cable using the lock nut while moving the throttle control lever to the fully closed position as shown.

5. Tighten the locknuts.

6. After tightening the lock nuts, check the timing and movement of the throttle control lever.
