1. PGM-FI fault diagnosis
  • First, check that the PGM-FI indicator light on the instrument cluster comes on.

First, check that the PGM-FI indicator light on…

  • Before disconnecting and connecting the control unit connectors, be sure to turn the ignition key to the OFF position.
  • After checking or repairing, reset the control unit memory data by removing fuse No.13 (7.5A) in the fuse box near the front passenger seat for at least 10 seconds.

2. Disconnecting and connecting fuel hoses and tubes
  • Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  • Before disconnecting the fuel line, relieve the fuel pressure (see below).
  • When disconnecting, connecting, or replacing fuel hoses and pipes, be sure to replace the washers and O-rings of the fuel pulsation damper, fuel supply pipes, and pressure regulator connections, and replace the O-rings, O-rings, and O-rings of the fuel injectors. Before installing the O-rings and O-rings, be sure to apply clean Honda engine oil to them. Do not apply brake fluid, coolant, vegetable oil, etc.

When disconnecting, connecting, or replacing fuel…

  • When connecting high pressure fuel hoses, be sure to clean the connection areas and replace the special washers (see below).

3. Checking after completion of work

  • Check that all components are installed and all threaded connections are tight.
  • Connect the negative battery cable.
  • Set the time on your clock and tune the radio.

4. Checking for fuel leaks
  • After connecting the fuel hoses and pipes, turn the ignition key to the ON (II) position (do not turn on the starter), and increase the fuel pressure in the system (the fuel pump turns on for about 2 seconds). Repeat this action 2-3 times and check for fuel leaks at all connections.

5. When installing an amateur radio transmitter

The control unit and its wiring are protected from external electromagnetic waves, but if there is a source of a strong electromagnetic signal nearby, the control unit may not operate properly. To avoid malfunctions in the control unit, follow these rules.
  • Do not place the radio transmitter and its antenna closer than 20 cm from the control unit (the control unit is located above the floor tunnel).
  • Do not run the antenna feeder and coaxial cable parallel to the vehicle's electrical wiring, and if it is necessary to cross the electrical wiring, do so at a right angle.
  • Do not install high power transmitters (more than 10 W).
