- First, make sure the PGM-FI warning light on the instrument cluster comes on.
- Before disconnecting and connecting the connectors of the control unit, be sure to turn the ignition key to the OFF position.
- After checking or repairing, reset the control unit memory data by removing fuse No. 13 for at least 10 seconds (7.5A) in the fuse box next to the front passenger seat.
2. Disconnecting and connecting fuel hoses and pipes
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Relieve fuel pressure before disconnecting fuel line (see below).
- When disconnecting and connecting fuel hoses and pipes, and when replacing them, be sure to replace the washers and O-rings of the connections of the fuel pulsation damper, fuel pipes and pressure regulator, and also replace the O-rings, O-rings and O-rings of the fuel injectors. Be sure to coat the O-rings and O-rings with clean Honda engine oil before installing them. Do not apply brake fluid, coolant, cooking oil, etc. to them.
- When connecting fuel hoses, high pressure, be sure to clean the connection areas and replace the special washers (see below).
3. Inspection after completion of work
- Check that all components are installed and that all screw connections are tight.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
- Set the clock and tune the radio.
4. Check for fuel leaks
- After connecting the fuel hoses and pipes, turn the ignition key to the ON position (II) (do not turn on the starter), and raise the fuel pressure in the system (fuel pump starts approx. for 2 sec.). Repeat this action 2-3 times and check for fuel leaks at all connections.
5. When an amateur radio transmitter is installed
The control unit and its electrical wiring are protected from external electromagnetic waves, however, if there is a strong electromagnetic signal nearby, the control unit may not work properly. To avoid malfunctions in the operation of the control unit, observe the following rules.
- Do not place the radio transmitter and its antenna closer than 20 cm from the control unit (the control unit is located above the floor tunnel).
- Do not run the antenna feeder and coaxial cable parallel to the car's electrical wiring, and if it is necessary to cross the electrical wiring, do it at a right angle.
- Do not install powerful transmitters (more than 10 W).
