Warning! If you do not properly handle the battery, it may explode and cause serious injury to people in the vicinity.
Carefully follow all recommendations and keep sparks and open flames away from the battery.
Note. To obtain accurate test results, the temperature of the electrolyte must be between 21 and 38°C before testing.
Verification procedure
1. Check for breakage: If the case is cracked or the output terminals are wobbly, replace the battery.
2. Check the color of the status indicator: blue or green indicates normal battery status. If the indicator glows red, remove the protective tape, remove the caps and add distilled water, then install the caps and tape. If the indicator color is normal, go to step 3.
3. Connect a battery tester and set the load to three times the battery amp-hours.
After the load has been applied for 15 seconds, the battery voltage should be at least 9.6 V.
If the voltage exceeds 9.6 V, the battery is good, clean its terminals and case and install it in the car.
If the reading is between 6.5 and 9.6 V, connect the charger and charge the battery with an initial current of 40 A for 3 minutes.
Attention! The current will drop as the voltage rises. Do not try to compensate for the current drop by increasing it, you can damage the battery.
All 3 minutes, observe the voltage of the battery, it should not exceed 15.5 V. If the voltage is less than 15.5 V, the battery is good, clean its terminals and case and install it on the car.
If the voltage exceeds 15.5 V during 3 minutes of charging, the battery is defective and should be replaced.
If the voltage drops below 6.5 V, reduce the current and charge the battery with 5 A for no more than 24 hours (or until the charge is fully restored by the color of the indicator or until the density of the electrolyte is at least 1,270). Then carry out the load test again. o If the voltage is greater than 9.6 V, the battery is good, clean the terminals and case and install it in the vehicle.
If the voltage is still below 6.5V, the battery is bad and should be replaced.
