
Dismantling
1. Raise the rear of the vehicle and place safety stands in appropriate places.
2. Remove the rear wheel.
3. For HID model: Remove the rear headlight leveling sensor.
4. Remove the rear spring support lower cover A.

5. Place a floor jack under the rear axle beam and support the rear suspension while raising the jack.
6. Remove flange bolt A from the bottom of the shock absorber.
7. Remove the side trim of the luggage compartment A.
8. Remove the self-locking nut A while holding the shock absorber rod B with the Allen key C.
9. Compress the shock absorber block A and remove it from the body.
Examination
1. Push the shock absorber as shown.
2. Compress the shock absorber unit with your hands and check its operation at full working stroke during compression and expansion. After the compression stops, the shock absorber should expand evenly and smoothly. If this does not happen, then there is a gas leak in the shock absorber and it must be replaced.
3. During these checks, make sure there is no leakage of working fluid, extraneous sounds or jamming.
Installation
1. Install the shock absorber mounting sleeve A onto the shock absorber. Position the shock absorber assembly B between the body and the rear axle beam.
2. Place a floor jack under the rear axle beam and support the rear suspension while raising the jack.

3. Install the shock absorber mounting sleeve A, shock absorber mounting washer B onto the shock absorber rod and lightly tighten the new self-locking nut C. Follow the instructions for installing the washers and sleeve.
4. Install the new flange bolt A onto the bottom of the shock absorber, without tightening it completely.

5. Raise the rear suspension crossmember with a lift until the vehicle is off the jack stands, then tighten the shock absorber mounting bolt to the recommended torque.
6. Tighten the self-locking nut to the recommended torque while holding the shock absorber rod A with Allen key B.

7. Reinstall the luggage compartment side trim A.
8. Install the rear spring support lower cover A.
9. For HID model: Remove the rear headlight leveling sensor.
10. Install the rear wheel.
11. Check the rear wheel alignment angles.

12. For HID model: Perform the headlight position learning procedure.
