A) Remove the center panel.
b) Disconnect connector "5Р" (A) and remove the switch (IN).
V) Check the continuity between the terminals in each switch position as shown in the table.
2. Checking the wires of the rear window heater.
A) Wrap the negative terminal of the tester with foil as shown.
b) Turn on the ignition and the heater to be tested.
V) Check the voltage on the side rail of the fuser.
If there is no battery voltage, then the wires are damaged or the "weight" (G402, G602), or the heater switch is defective.
If there is battery voltage, perform the next check point.
V) Measure the voltage at the center of each fuser wire.
- If the voltage is about 6V, but the wire is OK.
- If the voltage deviates from the specified value, make repairs.
If the measured voltage is the battery voltage, then there is a wire break between the middle and the side bus (-) thermoelement.
If the measured voltage differs from the battery voltage, then there is a wire break between the middle and the side bus (+) thermoelement.
3. Wire repair.
A) Clean the ends of the wire at the broken point with a solvent and stick protective tape on both sides of the wire.
b) Mix the repair compound thoroughly and, using a fine-tipped brush, apply a drop of the substance to the wire.
V) After 2-3 minutes, remove the protective tape and leave to harden for 12 hours at a temperature of 25°C.
Note: do not turn on the heater until the repair compound has completely solidified.
G) Check the conductivity at the place where the repair was made.
