Examination
1. Visually assess the condition of the clutch pressure plate.
If the pressure plate is damaged, replace the electromagnetic clutch.
2. Rotate the pulley by hand, making sure that it rotates easily and smoothly and that there is no excessive play.
If the pulley is sticking or the play is excessive, replace the compressor clutch.

3. Measure the clearance between the pressure plate (A) and the pulley (B).

4. Make sure that the gap corresponds to the nominal one.
Nominal clearance - 0.5±0.15 mm
If the clearance is not within the specified range, replace the pressure plate or adjust the clearance using adjusting washers (0.1 mm, 0.2 mm, 0.4 mm, 0.5 mm).
5. Remove the clutch stator winding connector from the bracket and disconnect it. Check for continuity at the thermal fuse terminals. If there is no continuity, replace the thermal fuse.
Note: At 122-128°C there should be no conductivity between the thermal fuse terminals. Conductivity should appear when the temperature drops below 116-104°C.

6. Measure the resistance at the terminals of the clutch stator winding.

7. Make sure that the resistance corresponds to the nominal value.
Nominal resistance at 20°C - 3.05-3.35 Ohm
If the resistance does not correspond to the nominal value, replace the clutch stator winding.
Removal and installation
1. Loosen the nut (B) while holding the pressure plate with the special tool (A).

2. Remove the pressure plate (A) and adjusting washers (B).

3. Remove the retaining ring (A) and compressor pulley (B).

4. Loosen the bolt and remove the retainer (A), disconnect the clutch stator winding connector and terminal (B). Remove the retaining ring (D) and the clutch stator winding (C).

5. Install in the reverse order of removal.
Note:
- Install the clutch stator winding with the wires facing down.
- Clean the sliding surfaces of the pulley and compressor with contact cleaner.
- Make sure the compressor pulley rotates smoothly.
- Route and secure the wires so that they cannot be damaged by the pulley when the compressor is running.
