Removal
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
Warning! If the car stereo system is equipped with a security code, make sure you have the correct combination to activate the audio system before disconnecting the battery!
2. Jack up the car and place it on supports.
3. Using a special open-end wrench, loosen the union nut and disconnect the hydraulic line from the actuator cylinder (see accompanying illustration). Prepare to collect any spilled liquid. Immediately plug the open ends of the line and nipple to prevent dirt from entering the system.
4. Remove the two mounting bolts (see accompanying illustration).
5. Remove the slave cylinder.
Installation
1. Install the slave cylinder in its regular place on the clutch dome, tighten the mounting bolts by hand. Make sure the pusher is seated correctly in the clutch release fork pocket.
2. Connect the hydraulic line to the cylinder, then tighten the mounting bolts completely. Use a special open-end wrench to tighten the union nut securely.
3. Pour the required amount of DOT 3 brake fluid into the cylinder.
4. Bleed the hydraulic system (see Bleeding air from the hydraulic circuit of the clutch release drive).
5. Lower the vehicle to the ground and connect the negative cable to the battery.
