Move the automatic transmission range selector to the position "R" or "N", apply the parking brake. Pull the hood release handle, located on the left under the instrument panel, the front edge of the hood should rise slightly.
Standing in front of the car, slide the fingers of your right hand under the front edge of the hood (to the right of the middle of the hood), move your hand to the left and feel for the optional hood latch handle. Pulling the handle up, release the latch and release the hood. Raise the hood. If the hood opens without first unlocking the additional latch, or the handle is difficult to move, and also if the spring does not return to its original position, it is necessary to clean and lubricate the latch mechanism.
Release the thrust strut from the retainer and insert its end into the slot on the inside of the hood. The nest is located approximately in the middle under the front edge of the hood. To close the hood, lift it slightly and remove the end of the strut from the socket in the hood. Place the stand in place and snap it into place. Lower the hood to a height of about 30 cm above the grille, then release it. When the hood falls from this height, the lock should snap into place.
