Move the automatic transmission range selector lever to the "P" or "N" position, set the parking brake. Pull the hood release handle, located on the left under the instrument panel, the front edge of the hood should rise slightly.
Standing in front of the vehicle, place the fingers of your right hand under the front edge of the hood (to the right of the center of the hood), move your hand to the left and feel the handle of the additional hood latch. Pull the handle up, move the latch and release the hood. Raise the hood. If the hood opens without first releasing the additional latch, or if moving the handle is difficult, and also if the spring does not return to its original position, it is necessary to clean and lubricate the latch mechanism.

Release the stop strut from the retainer and insert its end into the socket on the inside of the hood. The socket is located approximately in the middle under the front edge of the hood. To close the hood, lift it slightly and remove the end of the stop strut from the socket in the hood. Put the strut back in place and snap it into the retainer. Lower the hood to a height of about 30 cm above the radiator grille, then release it. When the hood falls from this height, the lock should snap into place.
Make sure the hood lock is securely fastened.
