1. Loosen the wheel nuts for the respective wheel. Jack up the front of the car and place it on jack stands. Remove the wheel.
2. Remove the tip and its locknut from the tie rod (see Removal and installation of tips of steering draughts).
3. Have a bite with side cutters and remove the bandage tapes securing the rubber protective cover of the steering mechanism (see accompanying illustration).
4. Before installing a new boot, wrap the cut end of the steering rod with adhesive tape so as not to accidentally damage the small jaws of the boot when landing it on the rod.
5. Put on a new cover on the rod and pull it on the crater of the steering mechanism, making sure that its sealing lips are properly seated in the receiving groove. Secure the cover with new bandage tapes.
6. Remove the adhesive tape and screw the tie rod end into place (see Removal and installation of tips of steering draughts).
7. Replace the wheel. Lower the vehicle to the ground and tighten the wheel nuts to the required torque (see Specifications to the head Current service).
