Removal the electronic engine control unit (Honda Civic 5)

If access to the ECM is required for individual voltage or resistance tests, remove the passenger side kick panel. Move the carpet back and remove the ECM mounting bolt.



The drawing shown is for left-hand drive. Right-hand drive - the arrangement is symmetrical.

When checking the control unit contacts, insert the pointed probe of the tester into the connector from the wire side until it makes contact with the wire contact tip.

Caution: Piercing the wire insulation may result in poor or intermittent contact. To check the connections, attach the tester probe to the connector pin (from the contact side). For "sockets" simply touch the contact with the probe and do not push the probe into the connector contact.
