Draining liquid
2. Cool the engine, remove the radiator cap.
3. Install a container to collect the coolant under the radiator. If the drain cock has a pipe, attach a piece of hose of a suitable diameter to it, which will make it easier to collect antifreeze. open the faucet (you may need pliers).
4. Once you have drained the radiator, move a container under the block. The drain plug is located at the front of the engine block. Open the plug and drain the liquid.
5. Examine a condition of a liquid, hoses, collars and branch pipes of a radiator and the engine.
6. Replace defective parts.
Flushing
7. Flush the radiator with clean water, preferably under pressure.
8. Deposits in the cooling system can be removed by means of chemical decomposition. Follow the cleaning fluid manufacturer's instructions.
9. Wash the expansion tank.
Filling
10. Close the drain holes.
11. Move the heater temperature control to the maximum heating position.
12. Loosen the drain screw of the cooling system (see fig. 28.13).
13. Slow (about 5l/min) fill with new coolant before water begins to come out of the drain screw. Tighten the screw and drink the fluid until the radiator is full. Add fluid to the expansion tank up to the MIN·mark.
14. Start the engine with the radiator cap removed and warm it up until the thermostat opens.
15. Turn off the engine and cool it down. Add fluid to the radiator before closing its tubes.
16. Squeeze the upper radiator hose to remove excess air.
17. Start the engine, check for leaks.
