Replacing the radiator and fan (Honda Civic 8)

1. Drain the engine coolant.

2. Disconnect connector A of the working fluid…
2. Disconnect connector A of the working fluid…

2. Disconnect connector A of the working fluid temperature sensor 2 (ECT), then disconnect connector B of the air conditioner clutch and the wire harness lock from the air conditioner condenser fan cover.

3. Disconnect the fan motor connectors A and remove the wiring harness clamps B.

4. Remove the two bolts securing the condenser fan shroud, then remove the condenser fan shroud assembly.

5. Remove the two D bolts securing the radiator fan shroud, then remove the radiator fan shroud assembly.

6. Remove the upper radiator hose A and the lower radiator hose B.

7. Remove the expansion tank hose A and the wire…


7. Remove the expansion tank hose A and the wire harness retainer B.



8. Remove the two bolts C securing the radiator cover base, then remove the upper brackets D of the radiator.

9. Lift the radiator assembly A and remove the lower cushions B.

10. Remove the upper radiator hose A, lower…


10. Remove the upper radiator hose A, lower radiator hose B, radiator cap base C, ECT sensor 2 D and drain plug E.

11. Reassemble the radiator with new F-rings.


11. Reassemble the radiator with new F-rings.

12. Install the radiator and fan shroud assembly in the reverse order of removal. Make sure the upper and lower mounts are securely fastened.

13. Fill the radiator with coolant and bleed air from the cooling system.
