Caution: Do not open the radiator cap when the engine is hot, as the coolant is under pressure and may spill out. After the coolant has cooled, cover the cap with a rag and open it slowly.


1. Install the radiator cap tester on the cap, apply pressure (up to the valve opening pressure), and check if the pressure is maintained for 6 seconds.

Caution: Apply coolant to the seal before installing the tester on the cover.

  • Pressure: 93-123 kPa (0.95t 1.25 kg/cm²)

2. If the valve opening pressure is different from the specified value or the pressure is not maintained, replace the radiator cap.
