Examination
Start the engine and check each part of the exhaust system for exhaust leaks.
If exhaust leaks are detected, replace or repair faulty parts.
Removal and installation
1. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Remove the parts as shown in the figure "Removing and installing the exhaust system".
3. Installation of parts is carried out in reverse order.
4. Start the engine and check the exhaust systems for exhaust leaks.
Engine D15B (2WD sedan model). 1 - oxygen sensor before the catalytic converter/air mixture sensor, 2 - oxygen sensor after the catalytic converter, 3 - catalytic converter.
Checking and replacing the air filter (engine D17A).
Location of oxygen sensors (D15B (except for 2WD sedan models), D17A). 1 - oxygen sensor before the catalytic converter, 2 - oxygen sensor after the catalytic converter, 3 - catalytic converter.
Removal and installation the intake manifold (d17 engine). 1 - sealing ring (replace), 2 - intake vacuum sensor, 3 - throttle body, 4, 7 - bracket, 5 - gasket (replace), 6 - adapter, 8 - intake manifold.
Removal and installation the exhaust manifold (D15B). 1 - heat shield, 2 - exhaust manifold, 3 - gasket (replace), 4 - oxygen sensor, 5 - bracket, 6 - mixture composition sensor.
Removal and installation of the exhaust system (4WD models). 1 - resonator, 2 - sealing ring, 3 - muffler, 4 - heat shield, 5 - catalytic converter, 6 - oxygen sensor, 7 - exhaust pipe.
