Rear side door (Honda Civic 7)

Adjustment

1. Adjust the position of the rear side door if necessary.

a) To adjust the vertical and horizontal position of the door, loosen the door hinge mounting bolts as shown in the figure.

Note: Place a jack under the open door, placing a towel or other cloth on it first to avoid damaging the painted surfaces of the door.

b) Tighten the bolts after adjustment.

Tightening torque: 29 Nm

c) Adjust the height of the door protrusion relative to the body by turning the cushions as shown in the figure.







2. If necessary, adjust the position of the door lock bracket.

a) Loosen the screws securing the door lock bracket.

b) Adjust the position of the bracket by tapping it with a plastic-headed hammer.



c) Tighten the screws after adjustment.

Tightening torque - 18 Nm

Removal and installation

Note: Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Rear side door trim panel

1. Remove the window lift handle as shown in the figure.



2. Remove the inner handle.



a) Using a screwdriver, disconnect the clamps and remove the cover.

Note: Please wrap the screwdriver with protective tape before use.

b) Loosen the screws.

c) Pull the inner handle towards you and release the clamp.

d) Disconnect the rod from the handle.



3. Remove the auxiliary handle trim.

a) Using a screwdriver, lift the cover and detach the retainer.

b) Disconnect the "C" clamps.

c) Disconnect the "D" clips, retainer and remove the auxiliary handle trim.







4. (Sedan) Loosen the screws securing the auxiliary handle.

5. (Hatchback) Disconnect the connector, loosen the screws and remove the auxiliary handle.



6. (Hatchback) Pull up the rear side door glass corner inner trim, release the clips. Remove the corner inner trim.



7. Disconnect the trim panel fastening clips using a special tool and remove it.

Rear side door outer handle

Sedan

1. Raise the glass fully.

2. Remove the rear side door trim panel and access hole cover.

3. Disconnect the inner handle rod and the lock rod from the holder.



4. Loosen the screws and lower the lock down as shown in the figure.

Tightening torque: 6 Nm



5. Unscrew the nuts securing the outer handle.



Tightening torque - 10 Nm



6. Pull the outer handle towards you and remove it.

Hatchback

1. Raise the glass fully.

2. Remove the rear side door trim panel and access hole cover.

3. Disconnect the inner handle rod and the lock rod from the holder. Loosen the screws and lower the lock down as shown in the figure.

Tightening torque: 6 Nm



4. Unscrew the bolts securing the outer handle.

Tightening torque - 10 Nm



5. Pull the outer handle towards you and remove it.

Door lock

1. Raise the glass fully.

2. Remove the front door trim panel, access hole cover and rod guard.

3. Loosen the screws.

4. Disconnect the rod and connector, then remove the electric drive.



5. Disconnect the rod as shown in the figure.



6. (Hatchback) Disconnect the connectors, then disconnect the wire fastening clips. Disconnect the inner handle rod and the lock rod from the holder. Unscrew the screws.



7. (Hatchback) Disconnect the rods from the lock.



8. (Hatchback) Loosen the lower guide mounting bolt.

Tightening torque - 8 Nm



9. (Sedan) Loosen the bolt, then remove the bushing.



10. Remove the lock through the technological hole.

Door glass and window lift mechanism

1. Raise the door glass fully.

2. Remove the rear side door trim panel, access hole cover and rod guard.

3. Lift the door glass so that the glass mounting bolts are visible. Unscrew the bolts. Carefully pull out the glass.

Tightening torque - 10 Nm



4. (Sedan) Loosen the bolts and remove the bushing. Bend back the edge of the seal and loosen the screw. Disconnect the door glass seal from the guide.



5. (Sedan) Disconnect the guide from the fixed glass and the rear side door glass. Then, being careful not to touch the seal, remove the guide as shown in the figure.



6. (Sedan) Remove the fixed rear side door glass.



7. (Sedan) Carefully remove the rear side door glass.



8. (Hatchback) Disconnect the seal, loosen the nut and unscrew the lower guide mounting bolt.

Tightening torque - 8 Nm



9. (Hatchback) Pull the lower guide forward, then loosen the nut and disconnect the lower guide from the rear side door glass.



10. (Hatchback) Pull up on the lower guide and remove it from the door.



11. (Hatchback) Carefully remove the rear side door glass.



12. (Models with electric window lift) Disconnect the connector and clips.

13. Unscrew the bolts. Then pull out the window lift mechanism through the technological hole.

Tightening torque - 8 Nm





14. Before installation, apply grease to the window lift mechanism as shown in the figure.

Rear side door glass trim panel

1. (Sedan) Bend back the edge of the rear side door seal to release the rear upper corner and remove the screw.

2. (Sedan) Slide the trim panel up, release the clips and remove the trim panel.



3. (Hatchback) Remove the rear side door glass outer seal.

4. (Hatchback) Fully lower the rear side door glass.

5. (Hatchback) Remove the rear side door glass corner inner trim.

6. (Hatchback) Loosen the screw, pull up the trim panel and disconnect the clips, then remove the trim panel.

External seal of the rear side door glass

(Sedan) Starting from the end, disconnect the clips and remove the seal.



(Hatchback) Starting at the front edge, release the clips, then pull the weatherstrip up and away from the rear side door glass trim panel.

Rear side door seal

1. Loosen the bolt.

2. Disconnect the clips "B" and then remove the rear side door seal.

Upper inner seal of the rear side door (sedan)

1. Remove the rear side door glass trim panel.

2. Disconnect the clips and then remove the inner seal as shown in the figure.

Rear side door side seal

Pull the seal towards you and remove it as shown in the figure.

Disassembly and assembly

1. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Remove the rear side door trim panel.

3. When disassembling the rear side door, follow the assembly drawing "Disassembling and assembling the rear side door". Disassemble in the sequence shown in the drawing.

4. Assembly is carried out in the reverse order of disassembly.
