Removal



1. Disconnect the negative and then positive cable from the battery.

2. Drain the oil from the gearbox.

3. Remove the air intake and air filter.

4. Disconnect the wires from the starter, the ground wire from the transmission and the connector from the reverse light switch.

5. Remove the wire fasteners.

6. Disconnect the speed sensor connector.

7. Remove the clutch pipe bracket, clutch pipe holder and slave cylinder.

Note:
  • Do not press the clutch pedal with the slave cylinder disconnected.
  • Be careful not to bend the tube.

8. Remove the drive shaft.



Note:
  • Lubricate all machined surfaces with clean motor oil or grease.
  • Cover the ends of the drive shaft with plastic bags.

Installation



Install the gearbox in the reverse order of disassembly. Before installation, check that the two dowel pins are installed in the clutch housing.

When connecting the starter wire, make sure the crimped side of the tip is facing out.
