Checking the input signal (model KS)
This area contains the SRS parts. Before you begin repairs and maintenance, review the SRS parts locations, safety precautions, and work procedures in the SRS section.
1. Remove the driver's side lower dashboard cover.
2. Disconnect the 10K connector from the integrated control unit.
3. Remove the integrated control unit from the under-panel fuse and relay box.
4. Inspect the connectors and contacts of the sockets to make sure they are in reliable contact.
- If the pins are bent, loose or corroded, repair them and check the system again.
- If the contacts are OK, perform the following input tests at the fuse and relay box connector and socket.
- If any of the tests indicate a problem, find and correct the cause, then test the system again.
- If all input signal tests are positive, the integrated control unit is faulty, replace.
