Checking the wiper/washer switch
Windshield washer/wiper/rear window switch:
1. Remove the driver's side lower dashboard cover.
2. Remove the steering column covers.
3. Disconnect the 8K and 6K connectors from the switch, remove the two screws and pull out the switch.
Note: LHD type is shown, RHD type is similar.
4. Check the continuity between the contacts in each switch position, in accordance with the table.

Switch rear washer/wipers glass
Headlight washer switch:
1. Remove the driver's side lower dashboard cover.
2. Carefully pull the switch out of the dashboard.
3. Disconnect the 5K connector from the switch.
4. Check the continuity between the contacts in each switch position, in accordance with the table.
Checking the windshield wiper motor
1. Open the hood and remove the cap nuts and wiper holders.
Note: Remove the wiper holders carefully so that they do not touch the hood cover.
2. Remove the air chamber by pulling out the clips.
3. Disconnect the 5K connector from the windshield wiper motor.
4. Check the engine by connecting battery power and ground according to the table.
- If the motor does not work or does not run smoothly, replace it.
5. Connect an analog voltmeter between pins No. 5 (+) and No. 3 (-) and run the engine at high or low speed.
- The voltmeter should show 0V and 4V or less alternately
Checking the rear window wiper motor (combi)
1. Remove the rear door trim panel.
2. Disconnect the 4K connector from the wiper motor assembly.
3. Check the engine by connecting battery power (+) to pin No. 1 and ground to pin No. 3.
- If the motor does not run or does not run smoothly, replace it.
4. Connect the 4K connector to the wiper motor.
5. Connect an analog voltmeter between pins No. 4 (+) and No. 2 (-).
6. Start the engine by turning the wiper switch to ON.
- The voltmeter should show 0V and 4V or less alternately.
