General description
1. The compensator is a device that controls the amount of air supplied to the small and large diffusers of the primary chamber of the carburetor and to the large diffuser of the secondary chamber.

2. As soon as the atmospheric pressure drops (for example when climbing a mountain), the compensator bellows will open the valve, increasing the air supply to maintain the specified mixture composition

3. Malfunction of the compensator is usually the cause of enrichment of the mixture (black smoke on the exhaust) and poor engine traction when driving in the mountains. If you think the compensator is faulty, replace it. The compensator is located on the rear wall of the engine compartment.
