General description
1. The compensator is a device that controls the amount of air supplied to the small and large diffusers of the primary chamber of the carburetor and the large diffuser of the secondary chamber.

2. As soon as the atmospheric pressure drops (e.g. when going uphill), the compensator bellows will open the valve, increasing the air supply to maintain the set mixture ratio
Control
3. Failure of the compensator is usually the cause of the enrichment of the mixture (black smoke from the exhaust) and poor engine traction when driving in the mountains. If you think the compensator is defective, replace it. The compensator is located on the rear wall of the engine compartment.
