Note. This procedure tests the APP sensor in its fully closed position. In any other position, the APP sensor stores DTCs, which are described in another troubleshooting procedure.
Check for temporary DTCs or DTCs using the HDS diagnostic system before this procedure. If any DTCs are displayed, troubleshoot them, then follow this procedure.
Press the accelerator pedal several times to check its operation. If there is any interference in operation, check the pedal. If you find a problem, replace the accelerator pedal module.
1. Connect the HDS to the DLC data link connector A, located on the driver's side under the control panel.
2. Switch on the ignition by turning the key to position «ON» (II).
3. Make sure the accelerator pedal is not depressed, then check the APP sensor («APP SENSOR») in the data list («DATA LIST») using the HDS system.
- If 0%, then the APP sensor is OK.
- If not 0%, update the ECM if it does not have the latest software, or temporarily substitute a known-good ECM, then go to step 4.
4. Make sure the accelerator pedal is not depressed, then check the APP sensor («APP SENSOR») in the data list («DATA LIST») using the HDS system.
- If 0%, then the APP sensor is OK.
- If not 0%, replace the accelerator pedal module, then go to step 1.
