Examination
CR-V and Odyssey 1995
1. Disconnect the connector on the ignition distributor housing and check the resistance between the sensor leads, which should be on CR-V 300-700 Ohm models (measured between blue and white wires) and on 1995 Odyssey models 700-1300 Ohm (measured between blue-green and blue-yellow wires)
2. If resistance differs from norm replace the case of the distributor of ignition.
Odyssey 1996-00
1. Disconnect the connector from the sensor and check the resistance between the sensor leads, which should be 500-1000 ohms on 1996-97 Odyssey models, and 1850-2450 ohms on 1998-00 Odyssey models
2. If resistance differs from norm replace the gauge.
Removal and installation
CR-V and Odyssey 1995
1. Disconnect the battery from the ground, disconnect the connector on the ignition distributor housing from the sensor, mark the position of the housing relative to the cylinder head and remove the housing.
2. Rearrange the parts that are missing in the new distributor housing.
3. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
Odyssey 1996-00
1. Disconnect the battery from the mass, disconnect the connector from the sensor.
2. Remove drive belts.
3. Remove the crankshaft pulley.
4. Remove the bottom cover of a gear belt of a cam-shaft.
5. Remove the sensor. On cars 1996-98. The crankshaft angle sensor is mounted in the TDC sensor, which must be removed first.
6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
