Caution: Wear gloves to protect your hands from cuts when performing procedures through access holes in the door frame.
Assembling the lock latch
1. Raise the window glass, then remove the door interior trim panel and weather shield (see Section Removal and installation interior door trim panels).

2. Through the large hole in the door frame, disconnect the rod connecting the outer handle to the latch. Do the same with the rod of the inner handle, as well as with the rods of the outer and inner locks and (if equipped) the electromagnetic actuator.
3. All rods are secured with plastic retainers. Release the portion of the retainer that engages the rod, then pull the rod out of the mounting hole. On models equipped with a single lock, disconnect the appropriate wiring from the latch assembly.

4. Remove the screws securing the latch to the door. Remove the latch assembly through the hole provided in the door frame.
5. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
External handle and door lock cylinder
1. Close the window and remove the door interior trim panel and weather shield (see Section Removal and installation interior door trim panels).
Note: To avoid damaging the paintwork on the door panel, tape the window under the door handle.

2. Through a special hole in the door frame, release the plastic fasteners that secure the actuator rods of the outer door handle and lock to the latch.
3. Remove the plugs, then unscrew the outer handle mounting bolts.

4. Remove the handle assembly with the lock cylinder. If necessary, the cylinder can be removed from the assembly by releasing the lock. If the vehicle is equipped with the appropriate equipment, the electrical wiring connector is removed by loosening the mounting bolt.
5. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
