Adjusting the rear door stop (Honda Civic 8)

Make sure the door closes securely without slamming. If necessary, adjust the tongue A: The tongue nuts are fixed, but the tongue can be adjusted slightly up, down, in or out.



1. Loosen screws B, then insert paper towel C between the body and the tongue.



2. Tighten the screws lightly.

3. Wrap the tongue in a paper towel, then adjust the tongue by tapping it with a plastic hammer D. Do not tap the tongue too hard.

4. Loosen the screws and remove the paper towel.

5. Tighten the screws lightly.

6. Pull out the outer handle and press the door against the body to make sure the tongue allows it to lock tightly. If the door locks well, tighten the screws and recheck.
