Note. Avoid getting dust on the work surface.
Working at low temperatures, heat the door trough and door trough tape with a hair dryer.
- Door gutter: approx. 15°C.
- Door gutter tape: approx. 30°C.
Heat the door gutter tape gradually and evenly to avoid warping.
Press down the door gutter tape from the corner to avoid air bubbles and creases.
If there are air bubbles on the door trough band, purge the air with your finger or a plastic brush with a rubber pad.
If the air bubble diameter exceeds 10 mm, lift the door gutter strip and press again.
1. To replace the door gutter tape, you need the following:
- plastic brush with rubber pad;
- alcohol;
- sponge or paper towel;
- hair dryer.
2. Remove the following parts:
- outer rear door handle;
- outer door glass gasket;
- gutter for lifting window glass, if necessary;
- door seal if needed.
3. Gently remove the old door gutter tape by heating it with a hair dryer.
4. Clean the connecting surface of the door trough with a cloth dampened with alcohol. After cleaning and degreasing body areas, do not allow water, oil or grease to come into contact with these surfaces.
5. Attach the door gutter tape.
Raise the edge of the protective film of the chute tape. Fit the door gutter tape to the gutter.
Press the tape against the door groove, gradually removing the protective film from it. Check if the tape is parallel to the door groove.
Press the tape firmly with a plastic brush.
Note. To avoid the formation of air bubbles, gently press the tape against the corner of the door frame.
6. If necessary, repeat the previous steps.
7. Replace all removed parts.
8. Check if the door trough tape covers the body paint.
