When working in low temperatures, heat the door gutter and door gutter tape with a hair dryer.
  • Door groove: approx. 15°C.
  • Door gutter tape: approx. 30°C.

Heat the door groove tape gradually and evenly to avoid deformation.

Press the door gutter tape from the corner to avoid air bubbles and wrinkles.

If there are air bubbles in the door gutter tape, remove the air with your finger or a plastic brush with a rubber pad.

If the air bubble diameter exceeds 10 mm, lift the door gutter tape and press again.

1. To replace the door gutter tape, you will need the following:
  • plastic brush with rubber pad;
  • alcohol;
  • sponge or paper napkin;
  • hair dryer.

2. Remove the following parts:
  • rear door outer handle;
  • outer door glass gasket;
  • gutter for lifting window glass, if necessary;
  • door gasket if necessary.

3. Carefully remove the old door gutter tape by heating it with a hair dryer.

4. Clean the door groove connecting surface with a cloth soaked in alcohol. After cleaning and degreasing the body areas, do not allow water, oil or plastic lubricants to get on these surfaces.

5. Attach the door gutter tape.

Lift the edge of the gutter tape protective film. Fit the door gutter tape to the gutter.

Press the tape against the door groove, gradually removing the protective film from it. Check whether the tape is parallel to the door groove.

Press the tape firmly with a plastic brush.

Note: To avoid air bubbles, press the tape gently against the corner of the door frame.

6. If necessary, repeat the previous steps.

7. Reinstall all removed parts.

8. Check if the door gutter tape covers the body paint.

9. Check for water leaks. Connection point (for reference)
