Note: You will need an assistant to assist you in adjusting the tailgate.
Be careful not to scratch the tailgate, body and adjacent parts.
Wear protective gloves.
1. Remove the following parts:
- side decorative panel;
- rear pillar trim, both sides;
- tailgate seal as required;
- luggage compartment lighting.
2. Push the rear part of the headliner in. Do not bend the headliner excessively.
3. Remove the support posts on both sides.
4. Lift the slot A to release the rear hooks B and the cover C on the front hooks D, then remove the cover.

5. Loosen the bolts and nuts slightly.
6. Adjust the position of the luggage compartment door A in the following sequence:
Adjust the tailgate hinges B to the right and left using the elongated holes.
Rotate the tailgate outer cushions C inward or outward as necessary to ensure a tight fit of the tailgate to the body at the sides.
Adjust the tailgate and door opener by moving the tongue D, move the tongue left and right until it is centered in the door lock E.
7. Tighten the bolts and nuts securely.
8. Check that the luggage compartment door opens freely and closes securely.
9. Reinstall the support posts.

10. Apply automotive paint to the hinge nuts and around the hinges and let it dry.
11. Apply multi-purpose grease to the tailgate hinge pins A in the areas indicated by the arrows.

12. Reinstall all removed parts.
