Note: Wear protective gloves.
Be careful not to bend or scratch the trim and panels.
When removing components, use an upholstery tool kit or similar.
1. Remove the upper tailgate trim panel A.
Unhook hooks B and tongues C from left side trim of tailgate D and right side trim of tailgate E.
Using your hand, pull the upper tailgate trim panel rearward to release it from the clips, then remove it.
2. Remove the lower trim panel from the tailgate A.
Loosen screws B.
Unhook hooks C and tongues D from the left side trim of the tailgate E and the right side trim of the tailgate F.
Using your hand, pull the lower tailgate trim panel rearward to release it from the clips (G, H), then remove it.
3. Remove the center trim panel of the tailgate A.
Unhook hooks B and tongues C from left side trim of tailgate D and right side trim of tailgate E.
Using your hand, pull the center tailgate trim panel rearward to release it from the clips, then remove it.
4. Using your hand, pull the tailgate side trim panel A rearward to release it from the clips (B, C), then remove it.
5. Perform panel and trim installation operations in the reverse order of removal, observing the following:
Check the clamps for damage or stress whitening and replace them with new ones if necessary.
Fasten the clamps securely.
