Replacing the air cleaner filter element (every 24,000 km or every two years) (Honda Civic 6)

The filter element is replaced regularly in accordance with the vehicle's routine maintenance schedule. During vehicle operation, the filter condition should be checked fairly frequently, especially in very dusty areas.



1a. Release the clamps.



1b. Loosen the screws securing the air cleaner cover (see accompanying illustrations).



2. Lift the lid.





3. Remove the filter element from the air cleaner housing (see accompanying illustrations), the inner walls of which should be immediately wiped with a clean cloth.

Note: On Integra models, the air intake hose must be disconnected from the filter element to remove it.

4. After removing the air element, try not to drop any foreign objects inside the air cleaner housing.

5. Install a new filter element into the air cleaner, making sure it is seated correctly.

6. Replace the air cleaner cover and secure it securely with the clips/screws.
