Transmission oil
Note: Check the oil with the engine off and the vehicle on a level surface.
1. Remove the filler plug, then check the oil level and condition.
2. The oil should be filled to the neck. If the oil level is lower, add oil to the required level, then install the filler plug with a new gasket.
3. If the transmission oil is contaminated, remove the drain plug and drain the oil.
4. Install the drain plug with a new gasket and fill with transmission oil to the appropriate level.
Note: The drain plug gasket should be replaced at every oil change.
5. Install the filler plug with a new gasket.
Oil capacity:
- 2.2 l when replacing
- 2.3 l. during major repairs
Always use genuine Honda transmission fluid (MTF). If unavailable, use API or SH engine oils with SAE 10W-30 or 10W-40 density as a temporary substitute.
