Warning!
- Make sure jacks and safety stands are securely installed (see ch. 1).
- Apply the parking brake and block the rear wheels so that the vehicle does not roll off the bed and fall on you while you are working under it.
Warning! Cover the fenders with a protective cloth to prevent damage to the paintwork.
1. Disconnect the negative first (-) cable then positive (+) battery cable. Remove the battery.
2. Carefully remove the slave cylinder and clutch tube clamp so as not to bend the tube.
Warning! After removing the slave cylinder, do not press the clutch pedal.
3. Disconnect starter cable and transmission ground cable.
4. Remove the cable harness clamp.
5. Disconnect a socket of the switch of lanterns of a backing.
6. Remove the cotter pins, then remove the steel washers, plastic washers, disconnect the shift cables and the gear selection cable from the levers.
7. Remove the cable bracket from the clutch housing.
8. Disconnect the vehicle speed sensor connector (VSS).
9. Turn off three top fixing bolts of a transmission.
10. Drain the MTF (see above).
11.Remove the mudguard.
12. Fix the ball joint pin of the stabilizer link with a hex wrench and unscrew the collar nut, then separate the front stabilizer link and the front stabilizer.
13. Remove the lock pins and loosen the castle nuts, then separate the steering knuckle and lower suspension arms.
14. Take out power shafts from an intermediate shaft and differential. Apply clean engine oil to all high-clean surfaces. Tie plastic bags to the ends of the drive shafts.
15. Remove an intermediate shaft. Apply clean engine oil to all high-clean surfaces. Tie plastic bags to the ends of the drive shafts.
16. Remove exhaust pipe A.
17. Remove the rear carrier beam.
18. Remove the rear engine mount bracket/rubber pad assembly.
19. Mark the flanges of the driveshaft and transfer case assembly (only on SEPM manual gearboxes).
20. Separate the cardan shaft from the transfer case assembly (only on SEPM manual gearboxes).
21. Remove the engine stiffeners.
22. Remove the clutch cover.
23. Remove the rubber cushion/bracket of the right front limiter.
24. Support the transmission with a floor jack and raise it just enough to take the load off the supports.
25. Remove the support bracket and gearbox support rubber cushion.
26. Turn off two lower fixing bolts of a transmission.
27. Move the gearbox away from the engine until the secondary shaft touches the engine, then lower the gearbox on the jack. Do not bend the clutch tube.
28. Remove the starter and hose clamp from the gearbox housing.
29. Remove the release fork cover, release bearing and release fork from the clutch housing.
