Examination
This area contains SRS* components
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the lower instrument panel cover on the driver's side.
3. Disconnect the 5K connector from the under-panel fuse/relay box and the 7K connector from the main wiring.
4. Check the conductivity between the contacts in each switch position according to the table.

Note: LHD type is shown, RHD type is similar.
5. If the continuity test results are not as per the table, replace the ignition switch.
Replacing the ignition switch
The SRS components are located in this area.
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the lower instrument panel cover on the driver's side.
3. Disconnect the 5K connector from the under-panel fuse/relay box and the 7K connector from the main wiring (see left column).
4. Remove the steering column covers.
5. Insert the ignition key and turn it to "0".
6. Remove the two screws and the switch from the ignition switch.
7. Install in the reverse order of removal.
