Recirculation control motor (Honda Civic 5)

Examination

1. Disconnect the 4K connector from the recirculation control motor.

2. Connect the battery (+) to terminal No.1 and ground terminals No.2 and No.4, the recirculation control motor should run smoothly.

Caution: Never connect the battery in the opposite direction.

3. Disconnect terminals #2 or #4 from ground. The recirculation control motor should stop at FRESH or RECIRCULATE (recycled).

Note: Do not run the recirculation control motor for a long time.

4. If the recirculation control motor does not work in step 1, remove it, then check the rod and flap for smooth movement. If they move smoothly, replace the recirculation control motor.

Replacement

Note: LHD type is shown. RHD type is similar.

1. Disconnect the 4K connector from the recirculation control motor and remove the harness clamp from it.

2. Remove the two self-tapping screws and the recirculation control motor.
