Examination
1. Disconnect the 7K connector from the mode control motor.
2. Connect the battery (+) to terminal #1 and ground terminal #7.
Caution: Never connect the battery in the opposite direction.
3. Using the jumper wire, connect terminal #7 individually to terminals #2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 in that order. Each time the connection is made, the mode control motor should run smoothly and stop.
Admixture: If the mode control motor does not work when the first contact is connected, connect this contact again after connecting the other contacts. The mode control motor is OK if it works after reconnecting the first contact.

4. If the mode control motor does not work in step 2, remove it, then check the mode control rods and flaps for smooth movement. If they move smoothly, replace the mode control motor.
Replacement
Note: LHD type is shown, RHD type is similar.
1. Disconnect the 7K connector from the mode control motor.
2. Remove the rod from the mode control lever.
3. Remove the two self-tapping screws and the mode control motor.
4. Install in the reverse order of removal. After installation, make sure the mode control motor runs smoothly.
