General information about the engine electrical equipment (Honda Civic 3)

The engine electrical systems include the ignition, charging and starting systems. The remaining electrical equipment is described in Chapter 12.

Remember:

• a) Be careful when servicing the electrical system;
• b) turn off the ignition when the engine is not running;
• c) Do not disconnect the battery cables while the engine is running;
• d) observe the polarity of connections during emergency starting from an external power source;
• d) When working on the engine, always disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
