Checking the backlight switch (R18A) (Honda Civic 8)

1. Disconnect the connector A of the background noise sensor.



2. Check the internal circuit of the two-pin reverse gear switch (contact between terminals #1 and #2). Electrical connection should occur when the gear shift lever is moved to the reverse position.

3. Replace the reverse gear sensor if necessary. Install a new washer and reverse gear sensor onto the transmission housing.
