Caution: Do not open the radiator cap when the engine is hot, as the coolant is under pressure and may spill out. After the coolant has cooled, cover the cap with a rag and open it slowly.
After installing the thermal switch, be sure to bleed the air (see below).
1. Remove the thermal switch from the thermostat housing.
2. Place the sensitive part of the thermal switch in water.
Lower it so that the threaded section is submerged in water.
3. Gradually heat the water and measure the conductivity between contacts A and B.
