Maintenance of car hinges and locks (Honda Civic 6)
Every 5,000 km (3,000 miles) or every three months, the hinges and assemblies of the door, hood and trunk lid latches should be lubricated with a few drops of liquid oil or a special lock lubricant. The strikers of the locks should be lubricated with thick grease to reduce their wear rate and ensure trouble-free operation. It is best to use a special graphite grease supplied in aerosol cans to lubricate the lock assemblies.
