Warning: Removing the temperature sensor on a hot engine will cause coolant to spray out, which can seriously scald you. Always remove the coolant temperature sensor when the engine and radiator are cold.
Note: Bleed the cooling system after installing the temperature sensor.
1. Remove the temperature sensor from the thermostat housing.
2. Hang the temperature sensor over the container of water as shown.

3. Heat the water and measure the temperature with a thermometer.
Caution: Do not allow the thermometer to touch the bottom of the container.
4. Measure the resistance between the sensor contacts according to the table.
