Electrical Wiring Faults — General Information (Honda Civic 3)

A typical electrical circuit consists of switches, relays, motors, fuses, fuse wires, thermal fuses, and wires connected together.

Before you start troubleshooting, check the relevant diagram: if several components of the diagram do not work, the fault is most likely in the fuse or poor contact with the ground.

Basic tools needed for troubleshooting wiring: voltmeter, test light, continuity tester (lamp with independent energy source), ohmmeter.

In general, all faults in the electrical circuit come down to the absence of contact where it should be, and the presence of contact where it should not be.
