Replacement
Note:
- LHD type shown, RHD type similar.
- The fan motor, recirculation control motor and fan resistor can be replaced without removing the fan assembly.
1. Remove the glove box.
2. Remove the self-tapping screw and the lower instrument panel cover on the passenger side, then remove the four bolts and the glove box frame.
Without air conditioning
3-a. Remove the wire harness from the heater pipe, then remove the two self-tapping screws and the heater pipe.
With air conditioning
3-b. Remove the evaporator.
4. Disconnect the connectors from the blower motor, blower resistor, and recirculation control motor. Remove the harness clamp from the recirculation control motor and release the harness from the clamp on the blower assembly. Remove the two mounting bolts, mounting nuts, and blower assembly.
5. Install in the reverse order of removal.
Make sure there are no air leaks.
