1. Clean the contact surfaces of the cylinder head and block.
2. Install a new cylinder head gasket (A) and reference pins (B) onto the cylinder block. Always install a new gasket under the cylinder head.
3. Set the crankshaft to the TDC position. Align the TDC mark (A) on the crankshaft sprocket with the arrow (B) on the cylinder block.
4. Install the cylinder head onto the block.
5. Measure the diameter of each cylinder head bolt at point A and point B.
6. If the diameter is less than 10.6mm, replace the cylinder head bolt.
7. Apply engine oil to the threads and under the heads of all cylinder head bolts.
8. Tighten the cylinder head bolts in sequence to 39 Nm (4.0 kgf·m). It is recommended to use a torque wrench with a tilting lever. When using a fixed torque wrench, tighten slowly and do not overtighten. If the bolt makes any noise when tightening, loosen it and retighten it, starting from the 1st pass.
9. After tightening to the specified torque, tighten the cylinder head bolts in two passes (90° in one pass). If using new cylinder head bolts, tighten them an additional 90°.
10. Install the valve rocker arms as an assembly.
11. Tighten the connecting pipe mounting bolt (A) and the brake booster vacuum line mounting bolts (B), then install the harness holder (C) to the bracket.
12. Connect the upper hose (A) to the radiator and the hose (B) to the heater.
13. Connect the water bypass hose.
14. Install the intake manifold.
15. Install the exhaust manifold.
16. Install the timing chain.
17. Connect the fuel supply hose.
18. Adjust the valve clearances.
19. Put on the drive belt.
20. Clean the battery terminals and cable ends with sandpaper, then reassemble them and apply grease to prevent corrosion.
21. After installation, make sure all pipes, hoses and connectors are connected properly.
22. Check for fuel leaks. Turn the ignition key to the ON (II) position (do not turn on the starter) so that the fuel pump starts working for approximately 2 seconds and creates pressure in the fuel line. Repeat this operation two or three times, then check if there is any fuel leakage in any section of the fuel line.
23. Fill the radiator with engine coolant and bleed the cooling system with the heater valve open.
24. Check the idle speed.
25. Check the ignition timing angle.
