Controlled lift

When the PCM detects that the vehicle is going uphill in the [D] position, the system increases the 2nd and 3rd gear engagement zone to eliminate the need to frequently shift between 2nd and 3rd gear and between 3rd and 4th gear, providing a smoother ride and extra power when needed.

The shift schedules between 2nd and 3rd gears and between 3rd and 4th gears stored in the memory of the PCM unit allow the most appropriate gear to be automatically selected in accordance with the steepness of the climb.

Controlled descent

When the PCM detects that the vehicle is going downhill in the [D] position, it shifts from 3rd to 4th gear and from 2nd to 3rd gear (when the throttle valve is closed) is performed faster than when driving on a flat road, thereby increasing the driving area in 3rd and 2nd gear. Thus, in combination with engine braking, a smooth ride of the car on the descent is achieved. Depending on the steepness of the descent recorded in the memory of the RCM unit, three modes of movement on the descent are provided with different movement zones in 3rd and 2nd gears. When you slow down the car in 4th gear while driving down a steep hill and press the brake pedal, the transmission shifts to a lower gear. When you increase speed, the transmission will return to a higher gear.
