2. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.
3. Remove the filler cap and the engine cover.
4. Place a wrench on the fuel pulsation damper (A) on the fuel rail.

5. Wrap the fuel pulsation damper with a rag or tissue
6. Slowly loosen the fuel pulsation damper one full turn.
7. Unscrew the fuel pulsation damper from the fitting and screw on the adapter for the fuel pressure gauge.

8. Secure the fuel pressure gauge.

9. Start the engine and let it run at idle speed.
- If the engine starts, proceed to step. 11.
- If the engine does not start, proceed to step. 10.
10. Check that the fuel pump is working: listen through the filler neck with the cap removed. When the ignition switch is first turned to the ON (II) position, the fuel pump should operate for 2 seconds.
- If the pump works, proceed to step. 11.
- If the pump does not work, check the fuel pump circuit.
11. Read the pressure gauge readings.
Fuel pressure: 330-380 kPa (3.4-3.9 kgf/cm²).
Model KZ: 320-370 kPa (3.3-3.8 kgf/cm²).
- If the pressure is normal, the test is complete.
- If the pressure is out of tolerance, replace the fuel pressure regulator and fuel filter and recheck.
12. Remove the fuel pressure gauge and screw in the fuel pulsation damper, installing a new washer. Tighten the fuel pulsation damper to 22 Nm (2.2 kgf·m) [KT, KR, KW, 1N models: 27 Nm (2.8 kgf·m)].
Note: After use, disassemble and thoroughly clean the fuel gauge adapter.
