The air conditioning system is serviced in a car service center by qualified personnel. The following preventive operations may be performed independently.

1. Regularly (at least once a month) turn on the air conditioner regardless of the season.

Some late-production vehicles are equipped with an automatic air conditioner switch-on whenever the windshield heater is turned on. It is necessary to monitor the density of the coolant to prevent freezing of the heater radiator when the air conditioner is automatically turned on.

2. For the air conditioning system to operate efficiently, the radiator cap valve must operate at the pressure set by the manufacturer. Replace the faulty plug.

3. Clean the condenser fins periodically.

4. Check the cleanliness of the drain tube that carries accumulated water away from the evaporator.

5. Check the air conditioner for leaks periodically. A breach in the system's tightness is indicated by the appearance of an oily liquid near the leak site.

6. Check the integrity of the compressor drive belt and its tension, monitor the integrity of the wiring, and the reliability of the connectors.

7. Check the condition of the air conditioner fan, the presence of air flow from all nozzles when the fan is turned on in the HIGH and MAX positions. Check the correct operation of the heater control levers.
