2. Screw the plug into the drain hole, installing a new sealing washer (B).

3. Place a jack under the transmission and lift it up, creating a gap between the transmission and the front subframe.

4. Disconnect the shift control solenoid harness connector.

5. Remove the bolt (A) securing the bracket (B) of the ATF cooler inlet pipe (C) to the shift solenoid valve cover (D), the pipe bolt (E), and remove the sealing washers (F).

8. Measure the resistance of the gear shift solenoid valves between contacts No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, No. 5 of the gear shift solenoid valve harness connector and ground.


  • Gearshift solenoid valve A: terminal no. 5 (blue)
  • Gear shift solenoid valve B; contact #2 (orange)
  • Gearshift solenoid valve C: terminal no. 2 (green)
  • Gear shift solenoid valve E: terminal no. 3 (red)

Standard: 12-25 Ohm

9. If the resistance is different from the norm, disconnect the shift solenoid harness connector and measure its resistance at the shift solenoid connector.

If the resistance is not normal, replace the shift solenoid valve.

10. Connect the cable from the positive battery terminal to the contacts of the shift solenoid harness connector, and the cable from the negative battery terminal to ground, one at a time. A clicking sound should be heard.

11. If no sound is heard, connect the cable from the positive battery terminal to the shift solenoid connector terminal and check that a clicking sound is heard. If no sound is heard, replace the shift solenoid valve.

12. If the test results are positive, replace the solenoid valve harness.

13. Install a new O-ring on the shift solenoid valve connector and connect the connector to the transmission housing.

14. Install the cover onto the shift solenoid valves using a new gasket and dowel pins.

15. Install the ATF cooler inlet pipe with the bolt and new sealing washers. Using a jack, create a gap between the gearbox and the front subframe and tighten the pipe bolt with a torque wrench.

16. Install the ATF cooler inlet pipe bracket to the shift solenoid valve cover and secure it with the bolt.

17. Check if there is any rust, dirt or oil on the connector, then connect the connector securely.



18. Remove the jack.

19. Fill the transmission with the recommended transmission fluid.
